THE management of the gas plants at Mossmorran and informing the public of a planned three hour emergency exercise tomorrow (Tuesday).

Shell UK Limited, operators of the Fife Natural Gas Liquids Plant of the Notification of a Joint Planned Emergency Exercise at Mossmorran with ExxonMobil Chemical Limited and Shell UK advising the local community that there is going to be a planned ‘live play’ emergency exercise from 10.00 am to 1pm.

Said Exxon/Mobil’s Catherine Cubitt: “This exercise is planned to allow us to test what to do in the event of any emergency and is an important part of being prepared. “It is therefore important that we periodically, and jointly, test our preparedness.

“It is anticipated that this exercise will last approximately three hours”.

What might be visible to the Community: Operations allowing, there will be fire tenders from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attending along with Police Scotland vehicles. These may be visible to the local community along the North Access Road to the site or at the main entrance to the site prior to the exercise commencing.
