Mossmorran public meeting on Friday 21 February 7-9pm @ Lochgelly Town Hall

The packed public meeting in Lochgelly.

Chair of Mossmorran Action Group James Glen says:

“Last week’s flaring at Mossmorran has given rise to unprecedented levels of concern in the local communities and further afield. People have many questions and anxieties going forward, and official communications – public announcements from Exxon and SEPA, and SEPA’s complaint form/hotline – do not allow for dialogue or the answering of questions.

In response to this need for dialogue, the Mossmorran Action Group is calling a public meeting at Lochgelly Town Hall, Friday 21st Feb 2020 from 7pm until 9pm.

Representatives from SEPA, HSE, ExxonMobil and SEPA have been invited, as well as Environment Minister Roseanna Cunningham and Energy Minister Paul Wheelhouse. The session will consist of a Q&A and each panelist will have ample opportunity to discuss their areas of interest.

The meeting will focus on regulatory matters, and we very much hope this will help to create better understanding of your role, responsibilities and limitations.

This will be our fourth public meeting. Our three previous meetings have been very well attended by residents, local and national politicians and the press. They have been effectively co-ordinated and managed to ensure a healthy debate in a safe space.

Once again we are inviting members of the press, councillors and MSPs.”
