Shell UK has appointed Craig Burnett as manager of its Fife NGL Plant at Mossmorran.

Mr Burnett will take over from Teresa Waddington, who is moving to a new role with Shell in Canada after three years in Fife.

He has worked as the plant’s production co-ordinator for the past two years, deputising for Ms Waddington.

He joined Shell following a merger with BG Group in 2016.

Originally from Banchory, west of Aberdeen, Mr Burnett is a chemical engineering graduate from Heriot-Watt University and previously worked with Talisman Energy and BG Group in the North Sea.

While with BG Group he spent time in Australia working on the now Shell-operated Queensland LNG Project, and supported community engagement.

He said: “Since first coming to work at Shell’s plant at Mossmorran two years ago, it’s been clear what a strong contribution it makes to the economies of the local area and Scotland more widely.

“But equally important is the need for it to be a good neighbour to people living nearby.

“That matters hugely to them – and to me. It will remain a priority as I take over the running of the plant.”
