About Your New Role: As a Communications Specialist, you will be a crucial member of the Public & Government Affairs department. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead our long-standing community contributions program by collaborating with local charities, Community Councils, and Groups to identify funding opportunities.
• Administer the contributions program efficiently.
• Work closely with colleagues to identify and promote STEM education activities in local schools.
• Create and deliver proactive communications to enhance insight and understanding of our company’s operations.
• Develop a strong presence on social media and web channels by crafting engaging and informative content.
• Write compelling copy for various digital and print channels.
• Conceptualize and implement short-term campaigns to support key issues, such as recruitment.
• Collaborate with the media team to identify local communication opportunities and assist in the development of relevant news releases.
• Coordinate the development of photographic and video collateral.
• Engage with internal teams and monitor external activities to identify potential emerging issues.
• Respond promptly and effectively to community inquiries and complaints.

Specific Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess:

• 3-5 years of proven experience in communications and engagement.
• A strong track record in engaging with community representatives, schools, and charities.
• Exceptional writing skills and the ability to identify and develop compelling stories.
• The capacity to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in digital communications, including web and social media.
• Familiarity with web content management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
